How to Get to LGA or JFK

Tags :

Do you need to know how to get to LaGuardia Airport or JFK International Airport? The $20 Ram Van airport shuttle is a no-brainer if you’re traveling prior to a Fordham holiday or break.

For all other times you might need to get out there, check out our guide below for some alternative suggestions!

LaGuardia

Public Transportation: The M60 bus provides service between Manhattan and LaGuardia, with several stops in Queens. For Fordham students, the easiest stop to pick up the bus may be at E 125 st & Madison Ave, located one block west of the Harlem 125th St. Metro North station. Please note that a Metro Card with at least $2.75 is required to board the bus.

NYC Airporter: The NYC Airporter is a bus that runs service to LaGuardia from the Port Authority Bus Terminal, Grand Central Station and Penn Station. Buses depart roughly every 30 minutes and the fare is $13. Fordham students traveling from Lincoln Center may find it most convenient to pick up the bus from the Port Authority or Penn Station, while students traveling from Rose Hill may find it easiest to take a Metro-North train to Grand Central and pick up the bus from there. See the NYC Airporter website for exact pickup locations.

Taxi, Car and Van Service: These tend to be the most expensive option, but also provide more convenience than other options. Please review our recommended car services page or LaGuardia’s taxi page for suggestions on which companies to use.

JFK International

Public Transportation: Taking the AirTrain to JFK is the easiest way to access this airport by public transportation. AirTrain can be reached by taking the E train to Jamaica Station and then transferring to the AirTrain itself. From Rose Hill, students may want to take a Metro-North train to Grand Central, and then take the 6 train (or walk) to Lexington ave/53rd street E train stop. The AirTrain is a short walk (marked by plenty of signs) from Jamaica Station and costs $5, which can be paid via MetroCard. The AirTrain stops at all terminals.
